The Centre is providing technical support to Save the Children Mexico on the establishment of a sister centre for child rights and business (El Centro) in Mexico City that will serve business in Mexico and Latin America.

The Centre’s support consists of strategic advice on development of the business plans, staffing and service development, as well as staff training on key services around child labour including risk assessments, prevention and remediation.

The capacity building project will be completed in December 2023.

The Centre aims to generate a cultural transformation in companies to identify and prevent child labour risks in their direct operations and supply chain.

  • Child risk assessment and its impact on direct operations and supply chain in terms of child rights.

  • Development and updating of policies, procedures and programmes for the prevention, on-site intervention and remediation of child labour as well as the protection of young workers in México.

  • Capacity building and facilitation of programmes and training for key personnel on social compliance on child labour with a focus on risks and due diligence.
