Malikah, Vice President, Products and Services (Asia), will join industry experts and business leaders for a session exploring how companies can strengthen human rights due diligence (HRDD) by looking beyond the factory.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;Beyond the factory: Community engagement as a tool for stronger HRDD&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;Human rights risks do not stop at the factory gate. Yet community engagement is often overlooked as part of corporate human rights due diligence.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;The session will explore how meaningful engagement with workers, their families, and local communities can provide critical insights into labour risks that may otherwise remain hidden. Drawing on examples from across Asia, speakers will discuss how community-level engagement can help companies identify risks earlier, strengthen prevention efforts, and support more effective remediation.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;The discussion will also consider how these approaches can contribute to stronger compliance efforts while supporting more stable and responsible production.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;For companies working to strengthen their HRDD systems, engaging with communities can offer an important additional layer of visibility.
