Under Amour (2024)

Under Amour (2024)

Since 2021, Under Armour has proudly partnered with The Centre to enhance the wellbeing of suppliers’ workers through the WeCare programme. The Centre has offered invaluable guidance over the years, overseeing the successful implementation of the program to address the practical needs of all parties. We are grateful for The Centre’s collaboration in reaching more beneficiaries, introducing new wellbeing activities, and expanding to new countries. We look forward to our continued collaboration.

Migros (2024)

Migros (2024)

It is the key focus of Migros to protect the human rights of workers and mitigate corresponding salient risks in our supply chain. Taiwan is one of the areas with overseas migrant workers in common; we found there is a need to enhance our Taiwan factory's awareness of migrant workers’ rights and corresponding recruitment practices. Thanks to The Centre for Child Rights and Business for organising the project; we did observe the enhancement of factories’ awareness and practices throughout the process.

In 2023, The Centre conducted a thorough harassment awareness and prevention workshop at a supplier factory in China. Their holistic approach included training for workers and practical recommendations aimed at fostering long-term prevention. The factory has since implemented a zero-tolerance policy and added anti-harassment policies to staff handbooks, with biannual training planned to strengthen prevention. We commend The Centre for their professionalism and effectiveness in delivering this workshop.

I want to become a supervisor one day in this factory. Therefore, I plan to stay with the factory and continue to learn new skills to prepare better for my career path.

I am grateful to be part of such a meaningful initiative that will not only help support my children financially but also provide psychological support. The valuable knowledge The Centre and Save the Children share will help my family safeguard our children’s future. (Commenting on the Child Benefit Allowance Initiative in Sri Lanka, winner of the Seal Challenge, 2023)

The motivation for the factory to implement the WeCare programme is primarily driven by the positive impact it has on our workers. The programme consistently provides practical benefits to our workers' personal and professional lives, particularly through the Working Parent Training (WPT) component. In 2023, we will replicate the WPT TOT to train additional trainers and expand the programme's coverage to more parent workers.

I think this programme is very worthwhile, as employees can focus on the work during the summer. The arrival of the children brought a warm and pleasant atmosphere to the factory. I believe that the workers who did not participate in in the Child Friendly Space (CFS) programme also had some fresh feelings. We recently conducted an employee satisfaction survey and saw an increase over the previous year. I believe that CFS has a positive impact on these results. We plan to highlight the CFS programme in our recruitment ads to encourage more migrant workers to return home to work. And of course, we will continue opening CFS and may expand the scale next year.

The Child Friendly Space (CFS) programme helps to raise employee’s sense of pride and level of trust in the factory. Employees can focus on work better. The programme also enhances the factory’s reputation in the industry and among job seekers. The local government and industry association have reached out to us, hoping to promote CFS in the local community and in the industry. In turn, this increases the social impacts of the factory and the whole industry. Next year, we plan to continue opening CFS and include more children.
