Co-Creating A Family-Friendly Tea Industry Held on May 21 Focusing on Smallholders and Small Private Estates

The "Co-Creating a Family-Friendly Tea Industry" Conference 2024, hosted by The Centre for Child Rights and Business and supported by Save the Children, takes place in Colombo on May 21.

In the first two editions of the conference in 2022 and 2023, the conference had a focus on priorities identified in regional plantation companies. This year's focus will be on tea smallholder farms and private small and mid-sized estates, which produce 70% of Sri Lanka's tea.

Following our tradition of facilitating constructive dialogue on addressing priority issues and sharing of good practices, The Centre will facilitate dialogue around human rights and the dignity of workers in smallholder farms and private small and mid-sized estates.  The conference will also showcase stories of smallholder society winners of the Seal Challenges in 2023.

Stakeholders from the tea sector, government, civil society organisations and development agencies are invited to participate in this important discussion. All discussions will be in Sinhala and Tamil.
